HOW TO MAKE A BETTER BACON, EGG, AND CHEESE SANDWICH
In this video, I show you how to make a delicious bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Between the rich, runny yolks and the gooey, melted american cheese, this sandwich is a perfect choice for any breakfast.
INGREDIENTS
1 Everything Bagel (or any bagel of your choice)
2 Slices of Bacon
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Large Egg
2 Slices of American Cheese
Salt
Pepper
STEPS
Cut the bacon strips into thirds.
Add the bacon in a single layer to a cold, single cast iron pan.
Cook the bacon over medium-low heat and crisp slightly on each side. Place on a paper towel lined plate and set aside.
Slice the bagel in half and butter.
Make sure the pan is clean of any bacon residue before heating and placing the bagel halves, butter side down, into the pan.
Once the bagel is toasted, remove from the pan and immediately place a slice of american cheese between the two halves. Set aside.
Generously coat the bottom of the pan with oil and allow to heat up a little.
Crack your egg into the pan and immediately top with salt and pepper.
Tip the pan to the side. Using a spoon, baste the egg with the hot oil while avoiding the yolk. Continue to baste until the white is fully cooked.
Once the egg is finished, open up your bagel and add the bacon before topping with the egg.
Add the last slice of american cheese, close, and serve.
