QUICK HOMEMADE DINNER ROLLS
In this video, I show you how to make quick dinner rolls that are super easy to make and great for a variety of occasions! These rolls only need to rise for 15-20 minutes, so you can have them ready for even a quick weeknight dinner.
INGREDIENTS
440g (3.5 Cups) All Purpose Flour
10g (1.5 Packets) Quick Rising Yeast
7oz Warm Water (110°F)
5g (1 tsp) Kosher Salt
42g (¼ Cup) Honey
1 Stick (½ Cup) Unsalted Butter
1 Large Egg
STEPS
Combine the yeast, water and honey in a medium sized bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined. (You can also use a stand mixer if preferred)
Melt ½ the stick (¼ cup) of the butter.
Add the melted butter, egg and salt to the yeast mixture and stir until thoroughly incorporated.
Add the flour 1 cup at a time while continuing to stir. Once all of the flour is added, the mixture should form a rough dough which detaches from the sides of the bowl. If the dough is still sticking to the sides of the bowl, gradually add a little more flour until a rough dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead until a relatively smooth ball is formed (aprox. 5 mins). Be careful not to add too much flour during the kneading process, otherwise the dough will not rise as well.
Divide the dough into 12 equal size pieces.
Roll each piece into a ball and place equally spaced into your skillet or baking pan.
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place cling film over the dough and leave in a warm place to rise for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size. The longer you are able to leave the dough to rise, the softer and fluffier your dinner rolls will be.
Melt the rest of the butter and dissolve in the salt before spooning or brushing half of it over the rolls.
Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
Spread the remaining melted butter across the top of the rolls and sprinkle with a little more salt to garnish.
