BASIC HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE
INGREDIENTS
1lb Apples (I prefer half Granny Smith and half Honeycrisp)
1/4 Cup Water
1 Tbsp Light Brown Sugar
Pinch of Salt
1/8-1/4 tsp Cinnamon (optional)
STEPS
Peel and dice apples into 1/2” cubes.
Add all ingredients to a heavy-bottomed pot, set over medium-low heat, and stir.
Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
Once apples have mostly broken down, transfer the mixture to a separate bowl and either blend or mash by hand.
Serve warm, or cool for a few hours before enjoying.
