SESAME FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
INGREDIENTS
1lb Brussels Sprouts
Peanut Oil, for frying
1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
1 Clove Garlic, Minced
1/4 Cup Honey
1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
0.5 Tbsp Lemon Juice
0.5 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1/2 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
STEPS
Heat Oil, about 2 inches deep, to 400F.
Make sauce by adding sesame oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using) to pan, and allowing to cook for a few minutes, before garlic starts to brown.
Whisk in the honey, vinegar, lemon juice, and soy sauce, and simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
Stir in the sesame seeds and set the sauce aside for now.
Fry the brussels sprouts until lightly browned, just about 2-3 minutes, then remove to a wire rack (optionally, lined with paper towel). Sprinkle with a bit of salt.
Transfer the brussels sprouts to a bowl and toss with the sesame sauce.
